We have created an Internship program that helps young pros for entrepreneurial and managerial success by giving them real-world understanding and expertise to give more meaning to what they have learned in college. Here is how we do it. With a targeted mentoring program, we evolve through the three parts of the Training program:

INTERNSHIP “MOCK” MANAGEMENT TRAINING PROGRAM BREAKDOWN

Performance Goals and Objectives

ZERO TO 1 MONTH

  • Work with your trainer to define and document your goals.
  • Learn to work in an organized way
  • Promotion to Training Manager.
  • Drive competition amongst peers.

1 MONTH TO 2 MONTHS

  • Are you channeling your time to the goals? If not, work with your manager to modify your dreams or work on how you spend your time.
  • Oversee three members and design game plans.
  • Ensure team goals are being fulfilled every day.

2 MONTHS TO 3 MONTHS

  • Research team performance goals to see if you are on target as a Team Manager.
  • Learn Territory Management
  • Learn and track team growth each week.

Skills and Knowledge Development

ZERO TO 1 MONTH

  • By utilizing the orientation manual as your step-­by-­step guide, you understand the specific skills and knowledge you need.
  • Teach back marketing systems.
  • Meet the entire Entry Level Checklist.
  • Qualify to attend leadership courses regularly. (Invite only)

1 MONTH TO 2 MONTHS

  • Develop proper training classes suitable to the entry-level trends
  • Design a 6-week game plan and begin to learn management skill sets.
  • Do outside research on branding, marketing, Sales and local competition.
  • Maximize strengths / overcome weaknesses.

2 MONTHS TO 3 MONTHS

  • Plan a timeline with trainees with duties they will follow to achieve the skills outlined in Greenlining Management’s development plan.
  • Manage and review progress reports with Entry-­Level candidates
  • Learn how to have the right conversations at the right time.

Processes and Methods

ZERO TO 1 MONTH

  • Educate yourself with the standard work methods and techniques used.
  • Be clear on why those methods are employed and how you can support process goals. (Practice retraining)
  • Set clear timelines for the task. Have timelines up to date.

1 MONTH TO 2 MONTHS

  • Organize and eliminate unnecessary variation in the way you do work processes.
  • Make sure your job duties are precise, persistent, and practical.
  • Learn the interview/orientation process.
  • Create a Team Identity

2 MONTHS TO 3 MONTHS

  • Interact with those who work cross-­ functionality in standard work processes.
  • Aim to describe any work processes to cut cycle time.
  • Present new ideas to management.
  • Start asking “WHY” more to know the mentality of Greenlining Management.

Feedback

ZERO TO 1 MONTH

  • Understand the different types of feedback and how you will receive feedback.

1 MONTH TO 2 MONTHS

  • Are you receiving the sort of feedback you need to improve? Is feedback clear and regular?
  • Compare actual performance vs. desired performance.

2 MONTHS TO 3 MONTHS

  • Are you offering feedback to those who need it?
  • Compare actual and expected performance.
